Our research shows that real estate fees / agents fees /real estate commission in the ACT generally range from 2.5% in the city and metropolitan areas, then 2.5% to 4% from the metropolitan area outwards*. Some areas more.

The official line from the Queensland Government is…. The law no longer caps the amount of commission an agent can charge for residential or rural property transactions this commenced on 1 December 2014. The deregulated system means you are more likely be able to negotiate with agents about their commission. This is the ‘official’ line. In reality in some areas fees can start as low as a flat fee of $4500 and vary upwards from there to about 3.8%.

Tasmania (TAS) Real Estate Fees, Agents Fees, Real Estate Commission

Effective 1 July 2017 these fees, including GST, are recommended by the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania but members are not bound by them.

Where the purchase price;

Does not exceed $10,000 – 11.04% with a minimum of $100
From $10,001 – $50,000 – $1104 plus 6.02% of excess over $10,000
From $50,001 – $100,000 – $3512 plus 4.22% of excess over $50,000
From $100,001 upwards – $5622 plus 3.99% of excess over $100,000
